Anand: We remember their courage and honor their sacrifices
Ottawa, May 31 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand said she was honored to join a commemorative event honoring the Canadian soldiers who landed on Juno Beach on June 6, 1944.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand attended a commemorative ceremony held at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 486 in Oakville.
Referring to the participants at the event, Anand said, "Today, at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 486 in Oakville, I am honored to join veterans, members of the Canadian Armed Forces, first responders, military cadets, and community members to commemorate the Canadians who landed on Juno Beach on June 6, 1944."
Emphasizing the commitment to preserving the memory of those who served the country, Anand concluded her statement by saying, "We remember their courage, honor their sacrifices, and pay tribute to everyone who has served our country. Let us never forget."
