Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baqaei announced that an emergency session was held at the Human Rights Council on February 28, 2026, regarding the U.S. attack on Shajareh Tayyebe Primary School in Monab.

Baqaei stated that the attack was a deliberate act carried out in stages with two Tomahawk missiles and that many innocent lives were targeted. “This attack is just one example of many war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the United States and Israel over the past 28 days in their illegal war against Iran,” he said.

The spokesperson emphasized that the children and teachers who were killed in cold blood are a symbol of the attackers’ brutality, adding: “They must be held accountable for these serious human rights violations and war crimes of a genocidal nature.”
