Baqaei: You cannot evade responsibility by portraying the victim as the culprit
Tehran, October 21 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baqaei criticized the attacks and sanctions against Iran, stating that the aggressor cannot portray itself as the victim or evade responsibility.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baqaei stated that Iran had been attacked twice in less than nine months and that these attacks had taken place while negotiations were still ongoing.
In his statement, Baqaei said that children had been killed in Minab, girls had lost their lives in Lamerd, Iranian leaders had been assassinated, and sanctions against the Iranian people had been intensified. Baqaei also claimed that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on June 17 had been violated by its signatories.
The Iranian spokesperson said, "The world is now being called upon to condemn Iran. Meanwhile, the world is paying the price for your unlawful aggression through regional instability and global economic insecurity."
Baqaei added, "You cannot start a war of your own choosing, set the region ablaze, trigger global chaos, and then play the victim. You cannot evade responsibility through an approach that reverses the roles of aggressor and victim, portraying the aggressor as the victim and the victim as the culprit."
