Berendsen: The ties between the Netherlands and Türkiye are strong
Ankara, April 9 (Hibya) - Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen said that during his visit to Ankara, he met with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and held comprehensive talks on economic partnership, NATO cooperation, and regional security.
Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen, following his official contacts in Ankara, made assessments regarding the strategic ties between Türkiye and the Netherlands and their shared future.
Emphasizing the depth of relations between the two countries, Berendsen said, "The ties between the Netherlands and Türkiye are strong. It was good to host Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara and discuss our shared priorities."
Sharing details about the content of the meeting, Berendsen said, "We spoke in detail about our economic partnership, our NATO cooperation, EU-Türkiye relations, as well as Iran and the situation in the region. We spoke about the challenges we share and our commitment to collective security."
Referring also to the NATO summit to be held in Ankara, Berendsen stated, "In this context, we also noted that we are looking forward to the NATO summit in Ankara. Thank you very much for your hospitality and for our open conversation, Minister Fidan."
