Chinese FM Wang holds phone call with Turkish counterpart Fidan
Beijing, March 26 (Hibya) - Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi agreed on the need to end conflicts in the Middle East and for regional countries to act with restraint.
According to CCTV, during the phone call held at Fidan’s request, it was emphasized that both countries oppose military operations without authorization from the UN Security Council and the escalation of tensions.
Wang stated that the crisis in the Middle East is rapidly expanding, stressing that the top priority is to promote peace talks and reduce tensions.
Fidan said that the positions of Turkey and China on the current situation are highly consistent and that Turkey is ready to work jointly with China to establish a ceasefire.
Wang noted that China supports Turkey’s constructive role in encouraging the resumption of negotiations and said that right and wrong in the Middle East conflict are clear.
Fidan also emphasized that Turkey is willing to work together with China to promote a ceasefire and bring the world back to the path of peaceful development.
