Costa: A stronger European Union means a stronger NATO
Belgrade, June 4 (Hibya) - President of the European Council Antonio Costa met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and NATO Permanent Representatives ahead of the upcoming NATO Summit.
During the meeting, European defense, cooperation between NATO and the European Union, and common security threats were discussed. Costa stated that European defense is one of the European Union's key priorities and said that leaders would assess the progress achieved at next week's European Council meeting.
Costa said, “A stronger European Union means a stronger NATO. And a stronger NATO remains indispensable for Europe's security.”
Emphasizing the need to maintain cooperation between the European Union and NATO, Costa stated, “We must continue working together to address common threats and challenges.”
