Brussels, October 12 (Hibya) - European Council President António Costa announced that European Union (EU) member states had adopted approximately 1,600 new sanctions measures targeting Russia's military-industrial complex, describing the decision as the largest single expansion of the sanctions list since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
European Council President António Costa said Ukraine was the party most committed to peace, emphasizing that the EU would continue supporting Ukraine and all efforts to bring Russia's war to an end.
Costa said Russia had intensified its attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine and increased its hybrid attacks against EU member states. "This will not go unanswered," Costa said.
