Costa: The EU stands in solidarity with Gulf Cooperation Council countries
Brussels, March 29 (Hibya) - European Council President Antonio Costa stated that the EU stands in solidarity with Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the face of Iran’s ongoing air and drone attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure in the region.
European Council President Antonio Costa made a statement regarding his meeting with UAE President Mohamed Bin Zayed and the security situation in the region.
Emphasizing that the attacks must stop, Costa said: "These attacks must be stopped immediately. I reiterated that the EU stands with the United Arab Emirates, which is among the countries most heavily affected."
Drawing attention to the diplomatic processes discussed during the meeting, President Costa stated: "In my meeting today with Mohamed Bin Zayed, we discussed the latest developments."
Reiterating the call for regional stability, Costa said: "The EU continues to call on all parties to de-escalate tensions and give diplomacy a chance in order to ensure security and stability in the Middle East."
