Dar: Pakistan facilitates return of 30 Iranian citizens
Islamabad, 17 June (Hibya) - Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar announced that Pakistan is supporting the process of returning 30 Iranian citizens to their country.
Dar said the group includes 8 Iranian fishermen rescued at sea by the British vessel MMA Valour after their boat ran aground, as well as 22 Iranian crew members from the Lenore/Davina vessel detained by US authorities.
He noted that both groups are expected to return to Iran via Karachi in the coming days, with the process being carried out in close coordination with Iranian, US and UK authorities.
Dar emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to humanitarian cooperation and said the country will continue to provide necessary support for the safe return of Iranian citizens.
