New York, April 4 (Hibya) - UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher condemned an attack on a hospital in Sudan that killed 10 people, including healthcare workers, and emphasized the inviolability of medical facilities.

Describing the consequences of the attack as “very bad,” Fletcher said: “The news of another attack on a hospital in Sudan is very bad; ten people, including seven healthcare workers, have died.”
Highlighting the status of medical facilities and personnel under the laws of war, Fletcher stated: “Patients. Doctors. Hospitals. They must be protected under the oldest and most universally recognized rules of war.”
