Ghebreyesus: WHO carried out medical evacuation of 35 people from Gaza to Jordan
Geneva, July 16 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that WHO has carried out the medical evacuation of 35 people from Gaza to Jordan.
Dr. Ghebreyesus stated that most of the evacuated patients were children.
He noted that 72 family members accompanied the patients and expressed gratitude to the government of Jordan for providing specialized care to critically ill patients and for its continued support. “More than 10,000 people in Gaza still need medical evacuation. We call on more countries to support these evacuations by accepting patients. Their lives depend on it. Many more are still waiting for help,” he said.
