Guterres calls for humanitarian aid to Gaza and a two-state solution
New York, October 26 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that the Palestinian people continue to endure severe suffering, calling for the removal of Israeli restrictions on humanitarian aid and the protection of civilians.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said in a statement posted on his social media account that the Palestinian people continue to suffer greatly. Guterres emphasized the need to lift Israel's restrictions on humanitarian assistance.
Guterres stated that obstacles to implementing the comprehensive plan approved by the United Nations Security Council to end the conflict in Gaza must be removed. He called for the protection of civilians and respect for international law.
Noting that the two-state solution remains the only viable path, Guterres said that Israel and Palestine must live side by side in peace and security.
