Herzog: The situation facing young people is alarming
Jerusalem, July 19 (Hibya) – Israeli President Isaac Herzog said that the annual youth report presented to him paints a troubling picture of the challenges facing children and young people in the country.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog said that the crises affecting the country have had a greater impact on young people than on other segments of society.
Herzog stated that young people, especially those at risk, are not receiving sufficient attention. He noted that the report highlights an increase in incidents of violence, alcohol and substance abuse, as well as cases of depression and anxiety. “We cannot accept violence, loneliness, and despair becoming part of young people's daily lives,” Herzog said. He called for greater support for young people and urged all sectors of society to take responsibility on this issue.
