The statement claimed that the ICC's arrest warrant against Netanyahu was "fraudulent" and alleged that it had been issued by former ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan shortly before allegations of sexual misconduct against him became public. "It was an attempt to divert public attention and shield himself from scrutiny," the statement said.
The statement also criticized Zohran Mamdani, the winner of the Democratic Party primary for New York City mayor, saying: "Mr. Mamdani should focus on addressing the problems Karim Khan's policies have caused in New York rather than supporting his criminal conduct."
The Prime Minister's Office added: "Like Karim Khan, Mamdani is attempting to divert public attention from his own mistakes and attack the leader of the Jewish state."
