Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

The 22nd Bosphorus Cup sailing races began with a trial race on September 21st. After experiencing the wind, waves, and currents of the Bosphorus, the athletes raced on the first day along the Caddebostan, Princes' Islands, and Kalamış route. The second day's race took place on the route that gave its name to the event. The competition between sailors, sailing between the two continents, provided pleasure for the spectators and exciting moments for the participants. The Bosphorus race was also attended by Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul, and his wife Dr. Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu. The event concluded on Sunday with races held off the coast of Yenikapı.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) supported the event in various ways in coordination with the Directorate of Youth and Sports. IMM provided provisions for the race committee throughout the event, allocated ambulances and medical personnel, and ensured that participating boats could dock at the Moda, Üsküdar, Kadıköy, and Bostancı piers. IMM also allocated 4 Zodiacs for race management and provided free outdoor advertising space for the event's promotion.

Special Trophy for the Winner

After three days of racing, the 'Fenerbahçe 1' boat with Barış Koncagül and his team claimed first place. In the overall standings of the tournament, the team 'Setur Marinas Cheese' led by Levent Peynirci secured second place, and the third place went to the 'Orient Express' team with the sailboat led by Zeynep-Ayşe Atabay. The crew that won first place gained the right to possess the specially designed rotating trophy created by the world-famous designer Can Yalman for one year. At the end of the race, the trophy was presented to the victorious 'Fenerbahçe 1' team and the other ranked teams by İlker Öztürk, the Director of Youth and Sports of IMM, and Orhan Gorbon, the founder of the Bosphorus Cup.

Residents of Istanbul also had the opportunity to watch the Bosphorus leg of the race from Beşiktaş, Ortaköy, Arnavutköy Akıntıburnu, Anadolu Hisarı, Aşiyan, Ulus, Etiler Hisarüstü, Üsküdar, Çengelköy, and Kandilli.

Bosphorus Cup Awarded in the Golden Horn

The Bosphorus Cup sailing races added another exciting event this year, and for the first time during the event, another activity took place. The IMM organized the Bosphorus Cup Optimist Sailing Races at the Haliç Water Sports Center in Istanbul. Sixty athletes from five clubs competed in the race. At the end of the race, the athletes from the Marmara Yacht Club, Poyraz Belgen, secured first place, Alaz Eligür second place, and Defne Beysel third place.
