Kallas: We condemn the hostile activities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps
Brussels, October 13 (Hibya) - EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas backed the assessment that it is almost certain the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was behind the threat against the Fairford air base in the United Kingdom, and condemned Iran's activities.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said the United Kingdom had concluded that it was almost certain the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was behind the threat against the Fairford air base.
Kallas said Iran's policy of threats and chaos extends far beyond the Middle East, adding that she condemns the country's hostile activities.
Recalling that the European Union has designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, Kallas said sanctions had been imposed on Iranian officials over activities that undermine freedom of navigation and serious human rights violations.
Emphasizing that the United Kingdom is a close partner of the European Union, Kallas said they stand in solidarity with the country.
