Kazakhstan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India and concurrently to Bhutan, Azamat Yeskarayev, presented his credentials to King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan.

According to a statement by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the ceremony Ambassador Yeskarayev conveyed greetings and best wishes from Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the King of Bhutan. Yeskarayev also expressed Kazakhstan's commitment to strengthening friendly relations between the two countries and expanding bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting held after the ceremony, the King of Bhutan conveyed his best wishes to President Tokayev and said he was closely following Kazakhstan's development process and achievements. The meeting discussed digitalization, the development of new technologies, the activities of the Astana Hub international technology park, and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of the digital economy, innovation and information technology.

The King of Bhutan also expressed interest in studying Kazakhstan's experience in these areas for possible applications within the “Gelephu Mindfulness City” project being implemented in southern Bhutan near the Indian border. He also expressed a desire to visit Kazakhstan in the near future and proposed coordinating the timing and format of the visit through diplomatic channels.

Yeskarayev also held a meeting with Bhutan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade Dina Nath Dhungel. The meeting reviewed the current state of Kazakhstan-Bhutan relations, potential areas for developing ties and the expansion of the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.
