European Commissioner Hadja Lahbib spoke about Russia’s air strikes targeting energy and heating systems across Ukraine.

Drawing attention to the harsh weather conditions in Ukraine and the devastating impact of the attacks, Lahbib said: “Ukraine is colder than the Arctic. Winter is extremely brutal, and so is Russia’s war. Overnight, more than 70 missiles and 450 drones were launched targeting heating infrastructure.”

Referring to the assistance provided, Lahbib stated: “This will neither break our courage nor our solidarity. For more than 4 years, the European Union has provided €1.4 billion in humanitarian aid and 10,390 generators.”
