Sarajevo, June 30 (Hibya) - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys announced that he met with Bosnia and Herzegovina's Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic in Sarajevo.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys said he had an excellent meeting in Sarajevo with Bosnia and Herzegovina's Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic, reaffirming Lithuania's support for Bosnia and Herzegovina's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and European path.
Emphasizing the importance of stability in the Western Balkans, Budrys said, "A stable and united Bosnia and Herzegovina is crucial for the security of the Western Balkans."
Referring to the strategic dimension of EU enlargement and external threats, Budrys stated, "EU enlargement means the reunification of Europe. If Europe does not provide leadership in the Western Balkans, Russia will step in. We must counter its malign influence."
Stressing that the integration process depends on domestic reforms, Budrys said, "The road to the EU passes through reforms at home. Strong institutions, effective governance, and tangible results will move integration forward. Lithuania is ready to support Bosnia and Herzegovina on this path and share its experience."
