Luxon calls on voters to support National Party
Wellington, October 27 (Hibya) - New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon defended the National Party's economic, employment and tax policies, describing the election race as close. Luxon claimed that a Labour-led government could lead to increased borrowing and higher taxes.
New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said in a post on his social media account that the election race was tight but the choice facing voters was clear.
Defending the National Party's economic policies, Luxon said the party's plan envisaged faster economic growth than Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, lower debt, 220,000 new jobs, higher wages and no new taxes.
Luxon claimed that a Labour-led government, with Chloe Swarbrick serving as finance minister, could increase public spending, potentially leading to more borrowing and tax increases.
Referring to a speech he delivered in Christchurch, Luxon said progress was being made under the current plan and called on voters to vote for the National Party.
