The Gordion Ancient City, located in the Polatlı district of Ankara, has been added to the UNESCO Permanent World Heritage List. These historical treasures have been preserved for future generations. The 45th UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting took place in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, in which representatives from the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality also participated, it was decided that the Gordion Ancient City in Polatlı would be added to the UNESCO Permanent World Heritage List. Gordion Ancient City, an important archaeological site in the capital, became the first to be listed from Ankara and the 20th from Turkey.

The news of Gordion's inclusion on the World Heritage List in Polatlı was announced by Mansur Yavaş, the Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, through his social media accounts.

Yavaş said, "I have good news for you" and used the following words: "Today, after the vote, Gordion in Polatlı has taken its place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. I thank everyone who contributed to this step that will carry Ankara's tourism into the future and breathe life into our economy. The next step is Aslanhane Mosque..."

The Gordion Ancient City, the center of the legendary Phrygian Kingdom, will open its doors to the world after being included in the Permanent List and will become more recognized. The number of tourists visiting the capital will increase, and the city's economy will also benefit from the preservation of this historical site, which will be protected by the world.
