Merz: We are strengthening the Federal Cartel Office to combat fuel price hikes
Berlin, March 27 (Hibya) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that they will strengthen the Federal Cartel Office to combat excessive pricing due to high fuel costs.
German Chancellor Merz stated that measures have begun to be taken due to high fuel prices.
As part of the measures, Merz said they will first limit price increases at gas stations to once per day, adding, "We are strengthening the Federal Cartel Office to combat excessive pricing."
Merz also noted that these measures were approved today in the Federal Council and are expected to come into force before Easter.
