Minimum Capital Requirement Increased for Joint Stock and Limited Companies
The Ministry of Commerce announced that the amendments related to the increase in minimum capital amounts for new joint stock and limited companies, as specified in the Turkish Commercial Code, will be effective as of January 1, 2024.
The Ministry of Commerce statement reads: "The presidential decision regarding the increase in minimum capital for joint stock and limited companies, as per Decision No. 7887, was published in the Official Gazette on November 25, 2023, with the number 32380. Starting from January 1, 2024, joint stock companies can be established with a minimum capital of at least 250,000 Turkish Liras, while limited companies can be established with a minimum capital of at least 50,000 Turkish Liras."
