Asia-Pacific markets showed mixed performance on the first trading day of the week. Stock markets in Australia and Hong Kong recorded gains, while markets in Japan, India and China declined.

In Australia, the ASX 200 index rose by 0.5 percent to 8,782 points. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index gained 0.17 percent, reaching 24,253.70 points.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index fell by 0.02 percent to 69,030.92 points. In India, the Nifty 50 index lost 0.08 percent, declining to 22,501.40 points, while China's Shanghai Composite Index dropped by 0.12 percent and traded at 3,809.079 points.
