In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index fell 1.96 percent to 67,860.79 points.
In India, the Nifty 50 index declined 0.22 percent to 24,233.75 points, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 0.65 percent to 25,287.25 points.
In China, the Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.39 percent, falling to 3,966.99 points.
