Oman’s Foreign Minister meets UN envoy
Muscat, April 15 (Hibya) – Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi discussed developments in the Middle East with the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy Jean Arnault.
During the meeting held at the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the consequences of the conflict in the region, including its effects on Iran, and the regional situation within the framework of the current ceasefire were evaluated. The parties also discussed efforts to bring a lasting end to the conflict in its political, security, economic, and humanitarian dimensions.
Albusaidi reiterated the Sultanate of Oman’s support for UN initiatives promoting peaceful and diplomatic solutions, emphasizing the importance of initiating regional dialogue among the parties. He stated that these efforts would contribute to reducing tensions, rebuilding trust, and strengthening regional stability.
Arnault, for his part, thanked Oman for its support of peace initiatives, mediation efforts, and its constructive role in enhancing regional stability, praising the country’s approach based on dialogue and consensus. Officials from both sides also attended the meeting.
