Pakistan marks World Humanitarian Day: We renew our commitment to humanitarian service
Islamabad, August 19 (Hibya) - Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar thanked humanitarian workers and volunteers in a statement marking World Humanitarian Day and reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to solidarity and humanitarian service.
Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar issued a message on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, observed on August 19.
Dar said Pakistan, together with the international community, honors humanitarian workers and volunteers who work to assist those in need.
Dar said World Humanitarian Day serves as a reminder of the importance of compassion, service and standing with people affected by disasters and other emergencies, adding that the shared commitment to supporting vulnerable communities should be renewed.
Dar said Pakistan takes pride in its longstanding tradition of generosity, volunteerism and community service, noting that these values are deeply rooted in the country's society and bring people together during difficult times.
Dar said experiences with climate-related disasters have repeatedly demonstrated the resilience and solidarity of the Pakistani people, adding that citizens, together with federal and provincial institutions, have contributed to relief and recovery efforts for disaster-affected communities.
At the end of his message, Dar thanked everyone working in humanitarian service and reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to the values of compassion, solidarity and service to humanity.
