Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Shaheen met on Monday with Abdelrahim Meziane, the Moroccan ambassador appointed to the State of Palestine.

During the meeting, Shaheen commended Morocco’s role, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, in supporting the Palestinian cause, particularly its continued support for Jerusalem. He also highlighted Morocco’s humanitarian assistance to Gaza during the genocidal war, as well as its contributions to development projects in the West Bank and Jerusalem, support for Jerusalemite students, and the restoration of homes and hospitals.

Minister Shaheen stated that the priority is to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, and launch reconstruction efforts with international support. He added that continued backing from friendly countries would contribute to ending the occupation and establishing a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.

For his part, Ambassador Meziane reaffirmed Morocco’s firm support for the Palestinian cause and for an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, stressing that Jerusalem will remain among the top priorities of King Mohammed VI.
