The statement from the Ministry reported that the US and Israeli armed forces carried out airstrikes on Iranian territory.

The statement emphasized that these strikes, conducted under the shadow of a renewed negotiation process that was purportedly aimed at ensuring long-term normalization of the situation around the Islamic Republic of Iran, are particularly condemnable. “This was carried out despite assurances to the Russian side that Israel did not want to enter into a military conflict with Iran,” the statement said.

The international community, particularly the leadership of the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency, must urgently provide an objective and impartial evaluation of these “irresponsible” actions aimed at undermining peace, stability, and security in the Middle East, the statement emphasized.

The statement further stated that Washington and Tel Aviv have once again embarked on a dangerous path, rapidly driving the region toward a humanitarian, economic, and potentially radiological disaster:

“The intentions of the aggressors are clear, and they have openly expressed them: to dismantle the constitutional order of a state they consider undesirable and eliminate its leadership, refusing to bow to power imposition and hegemonic pressure. The responsibility for the effects of this man-made crisis, unforeseen chain reactions, and the escalating spiral of violence lies entirely with them.”

The statement also mentioned that “The serious consequences of these miscalculated actions for the global nuclear non-proliferation regime are clearly being ignored. The cornerstone of this regime is the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.”

The statement further noted the continued and systematic destabilizing attacks by the US administration against the fundamental principles of the international legal order in recent months, which are also concerning:

“Among the violated principles are non-interference in domestic affairs, refraining from the use of force or threats of force, and the peaceful resolution of international disputes. We call for an immediate return to the political and diplomatic process. Russia, as always, is ready to contribute to advancing peaceful solutions based on international law, mutual respect, and balanced consideration of interests.”
