Lü stated during a press conference organized by the State Council Information Office that in the first quarter of 2023, the trade volume between China and countries along the Belt and Road increased by 3.1 percent compared to the same period last year and accounted for 46.5 percent of the total trade volume.

Lü pointed out that 68 countries along the Belt and Road have become China's largest trading partners, 74 countries are the largest sources of imports, and 35 countries are the largest export markets.

He also noted that by June 2023, China has signed agreements for the joint development of the Belt and Road with more than 150 countries and over 30 international organizations.

Lü also mentioned that as of June 2023, 117 ports in 43 countries are connected to the Maritime Silk Road, and China-Europe freight trains have conducted 74,000 trips.
