Tajani: The judiciary must clarify the circumstances that led to Abderrahim Fakir's death
Rome, July 21 (Hibya) – Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said, regarding the events following the death of Abderrahim Fakir in Bologna, that every aspect of the incident must be clarified by the judiciary, while condemning the acts of violence.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani made a statement regarding the events following the death of Abderrahim Fakir in Bologna.
Tajani said: "The judiciary must clarify the circumstances that led to Abderrahim Fakir's death. However, out of respect for the truth and for the work of those conducting the investigation, it is unacceptable to fuel hatred against the state and the security forces before all aspects of the incident have been clarified."
Describing the opposition's calls for protests as "irresponsible", Tajani said: "It is shameful to call citizens onto the streets despite knowing that the events will turn violent. Setting a city like Bologna on fire is a crime."
Tajani also expressed solidarity with the security personnel injured during the events and with "public servants who risk their lives every day to ensure the safety of citizens."
