Trading volume in U.S. markets concentrated in tech stocks: Intel ranked first
Istanbul, July 27 (Hibya) – Trading activity on U.S. stock markets was concentrated in technology shares, with Intel, Nvidia and Tesla standing out among the most actively traded companies. Apple posted gains, while Intel, AMD, Tesla, Micron and Sandisk came under selling pressure.
Technology companies remained the primary focus of investors in the U.S. equity market. Throughout the trading session, the highest trading volumes were recorded in technology and semiconductor stocks.
Intel was the most actively traded company of the day with approximately 181.13 million shares changing hands, while its stock fell 7.89% to $92.32.
Nvidia shares were also among the most actively traded, with a volume of 114.84 million shares. The company's stock ended the day down 0.92% at $206.84.
Shares of electric vehicle maker Tesla also attracted attention with a trading volume of 62.76 million shares, while the stock price declined 2.08% to $313.03.
In contrast, Apple was among the technology stocks that outperformed during the session. Its shares rose 3.53% to $333.02 on trading volume of approximately 47.49 million shares.
In the semiconductor sector, Micron (MU) shares fell 6.99%, AMD shares declined 3.29%, and Sandisk (SNDK) shares dropped 10.79%, reflecting broad selling pressure across the sector.
Investors continued to closely monitor the earnings season, artificial intelligence investments and macroeconomic developments, while high trading volumes and sharp stock-specific price movements in technology shares remained in focus.
