Tsahkna: We support human rights and democratic governance
Tallinn, 28 January (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said they stand in solidarity with democratic actors and civil society in Cuba and support human rights and democratic governance.
Tsahkna stated that he held a phone call with the leader of the Cuban Resistance Council, Dr. Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat, regarding the situation in Cuba.
Emphasizing Estonia’s solidarity with democratic actors and civil society in Cuba, Tsahkna said that they support human rights and democratic governance.
He added that, given the Cuban regime’s continued support for Russia’s war against Ukraine, stronger pressure is needed and approaches toward the regime should be reassessed.
