UNRWA: Security situation in Lebanon is deteriorating
New York, March 20 (Hibya) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that the security situation in Lebanon is deteriorating due to the intensification of clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces.
UNRWA reported that clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces intensified between March 11 and 18.
During this period, the security situation in Lebanon continued to worsen.
The statement emphasized that on the evening of March 17, evacuation calls were issued for villages, camps, and the city of Tyre, adding: “Following evacuations that also covered three Palestinian refugee camps, it is estimated that as of the morning of March 18, approximately 50% of the population of these camps—around 25,000 people—had left the area.”
