Brussels, April 13 (Hibya) — European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen spoke about energy strategies and Europe’s energy independence.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen highlighted energy security and sustainability goals.
Assessing the meeting agenda, von der Leyen said, “At the informal European Council (EUCO) meeting, we discussed a set of urgent and long-term energy measures that we will present to leaders. The way forward is clear.”
Detailing strategic priorities, von der Leyen said, “The only way to permanently get rid of dependence on fossil fuels is to shift electricity production to renewable energy sources and nuclear energy. And to electrify the economy as quickly as possible.”
