Yermak: True goodwill is measured by actions, not words
Istanbul, June 2 (Hibya) – Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, stated that during negotiations in Istanbul, the Ukrainian side officially handed over a list of Ukrainian children to be returned to the Russian side, adding that the ball is now in Russia's court.
Yermak noted that these are hundreds of children who were illegally deported, forcibly displaced, or detained in temporarily occupied territories by Russia.
“Back in March, during the meeting in Jeddah, we confirmed our readiness for a 30-day ceasefire that includes a humanitarian dimension. The return of Ukrainian children is an integral part of a just and lasting peace and a fundamental element of trust. It is the first test of sincere intentions,” he said.
“We await the answer,” Yermak added. “The ball is now in Russia’s court. True goodwill is measured not by words, but by actions. And now is the time to prove it.”
