Zelensky: Firefighting efforts continue in Lutsk
Kyiv, April 1 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia targeted civilian infrastructure across Ukraine overnight with 339 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), noting that these attacks are a response to Ukraine’s proposals for peace and a ceasefire.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement regarding the large-scale air attacks carried out by Russian forces using “Shahed” drones and the latest situation on the ground.
Stating that the attacks targeted civilian settlements and logistics centers, Zelensky said: “Following the overnight attack by Russian ‘Shahed’ drones, firefighting efforts continue in Lutsk. The attacks fully targeted civilian facilities; the Russians destroyed food warehouses and a Nova Post terminal. A residential building was also damaged.”
Sharing technical data on the scale of the attack, Zelensky said: “Overnight, the regions of Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi were also subjected to Russian attacks. In total, Russia used 339 UAVs against Ukraine overnight; around 200 of them were ‘Shahed’.”
Emphasizing that Russia responds to peaceful initiatives with aggression, Zelensky stated: “Today will be a very busy diplomatic day — many contacts are already planned, and last night’s attack is a response from Russia to diplomatic efforts. We proposed a ceasefire for Easter — instead, we are met with ‘Shahed’ drones.”
