Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked lawmakers following parliament's adoption of the Ukrainian National Pantheon bill.

Zelensky said the step is important not only for preserving historical memory and honoring national heroes, but also for strengthening long-term social unity and solidarity.

The statement emphasized that state decisions should be based on those whom society genuinely respects and who have made historic contributions to Ukraine's independence, development, and strength.

Zelensky said: "This is an important step. It matters not only for our history and for Ukrainians honoring their own heroes, but also for laying the foundations of long-term social cohesion in the future. This is only possible if the decisions of our state are based on recognizing the truth—on honoring those whom the people truly respect, those who have made a genuinely historic contribution to defending, developing, strengthening, and securing Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, and glory. I am awaiting the law's immediate signing."
