Zelensky: They failed to achieve their goal of occupying our country
Dublin, 2 December (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia had failed to achieve its goal of occupying Ukraine, adding, “However, I am not sure their intentions have changed.”
President Zelensky said that it was Russia that started the war: “There is no other way to describe it. The whole world witnessed it. They came to destroy us. We stopped them. Europe helped, America helped. The main reason Russia failed to occupy Ukraine is the resistance of the Ukrainian people and, of course, the support of our partners.”
Zelensky noted that the United States says too much blood has been spilled and that enough is enough, adding:
“We fully support this. But we must end this war in such a way that Russia cannot return a year later with a third attempt at invasion. They failed to achieve their goal of occupying our country. However, I am not sure their intentions have changed. They may simply wait, and we need protection against that.”
