Israeli missile hits Iran, U.S. officials confirm
Stockholm, April 19 (Hibya) - An Israeli missile has hit Iran, following last weekend's retaliatory drone and missile attack against Israel, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had vowed to respond to.
Israel has carried out a strike inside Iran, a US official told CNN, in a move that threatens to push the region deeper into conflict.
The Iranian state-run IRNA news agency said air defence batteries were fired across several provinces, stating that the air defences were fired at a major air base in Isfahan.
IRNA also reported the sound of blasts without giving a cause. State television acknowledged "loud noise" in the area.
The Israeli military said they "don't have a comment at this time" when asked by CNN about reports of explosions in Iran.
