Albares: Ratification of the Spain-France Friendship Treaty is excellent news for Europe
Madrid, June 18 (Hibya) - Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares described the approval of the Spain-France Friendship and Cooperation Treaty by the Congress of Deputies as “excellent news for Europe.” The agreement is expected to strengthen bilateral relations and provide significant benefits to border regions and citizens.
Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares commented on the ratification by the Congress of Deputies of the historic Friendship and Cooperation Treaty signed between Spain and France.
Assessing the decision, Albares described the agreement as an important development for Europe.
Emphasizing that relations between the two countries are built on strong foundations, Albares stated that the agreement will bring tangible benefits for citizens, particularly in border regions and for the approximately 300,000 Spanish citizens living in France.
Albares reminded that, for the process to be completed, the agreement must also be approved by the Spanish Senate (Senado de España) and called on political parties to continue their support.
