Albares: The reopening of Hormuz is of fundamental importance
Madrid, April 8 (Hibya) - Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares, stated during his meeting with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani that the ceasefire in the Middle East opens a window of hope, emphasizing the importance of the security of the Strait of Hormuz.
Spain’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares held a phone call with his Qatari counterpart Al-Thani as part of his diplomatic contacts.
Evaluating the ceasefire decision and the status of strategic transit points in the region, Albares said: "I spoke about the good news of the ceasefire in the Middle East; it opens a window of hope in the region. The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring free and safe passage are of fundamental importance."
Expressing his support for Qatar and his stance against the attacks in the region, Albares stated: "I conveyed my support to Qatar against Iran’s unjust attacks; these attacks must end immediately."
