Tsahkna met with Cyprus Deputy Minister for European Affairs Raouna
Tallinn, April 8 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that the European Union’s (EU) next long-term budget should be more ambitious.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna met with Cyprus Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna to discuss the EU’s upcoming financial planning and priorities.
Commenting on the meeting, Tsahkna said: "Today, we had a good discussion with Cyprus Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna on the EU’s next long-term budget."
Listing Estonia’s main expectations in the budget negotiations, Tsahkna stated: "From Estonia’s perspective, in today’s security and geopolitical environment, the EU budget should be more ambitious; it should strengthen defense and deterrence, enhance cross-border connectivity, and provide continuous, strong support to Ukraine."
