Albares: We condemn Hezbollah's rocket attacks
Madrid, March 20 (Hibya) - Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares, stated that the humanitarian situation in Lebanon has reached a critical threshold, condemning Israel’s attacks and violations of international law.
Spain’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares made a statement regarding the escalating tensions in the Middle East and the worsening humanitarian situation in Lebanon.
Emphasizing that the loss of life and destruction in the region have reached unacceptable levels, Albares called on the parties to exercise restraint.
Drawing attention to the humanitarian situation in Lebanon, Albares said: "The situation in Lebanon is critical. More than 1 million people have been displaced, more than 1,000 have been killed, and thousands have been injured. Israel’s attacks in Lebanon must stop immediately."
Criticizing Israel’s operations targeting strategic infrastructure and attacks on civilian areas, Albares stated:
"The destruction of bridges over the Litani River means the unacceptable isolation of part of the country's territory. We condemn Israel’s destruction of homes in Beirut and other parts of Lebanon and its violations of international humanitarian law."
Albares also stated that they condemn Hezbollah’s rocket attacks, adding: "Access to medical services for the victims must be ensured."
