Albusaidi: Ceasefire should be extended, talks must continue
Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi called for the extension of the ceasefire in a statement regarding his meeting with U.S. Vice President JD Vance before the war began.
Oman’s Foreign Minister Albusaidi stated that he met with U.S. Vice President Vance just hours before the war started and provided an assessment of the meeting.
Albusaidi said he gained the impression that both Vance and the U.S. President were adopting an approach aimed at avoiding the complexities of war.
In his statement, he emphasized the need to extend the ceasefire and continue negotiations between the parties, highlighting the importance of making progress in the talks.
Albusaidi noted that the success of the process may require difficult and painful concessions, but that these would be more acceptable compared to the consequences of war.
