Putin and Pezeshkian hold phone call
Moscow, April 12 (Hibya) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed recent developments in the Middle East during a phone call, emphasizing the need to reduce regional tensions and pursue a diplomatic solution.
Russian President Putin and Iranian President Pezeshkian held a phone call on April 12.
During the call, the two leaders comprehensively reviewed current developments in the Middle East. President Pezeshkian shared his assessment of the Iran-US talks held in Islamabad on April 11 and thanked Russia for its “principled stance” in reducing tensions on international platforms. He also expressed gratitude for humanitarian assistance provided to the Iranian people.
President Putin emphasized that Moscow is ready to contribute to political and diplomatic efforts to establish a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, noting that Russia will continue its contacts with all parties in the region and maintain its mediation efforts.
The call also addressed bilateral relations, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to comprehensively strengthening Russia-Iran ties.
President Pezeshkian also conveyed Easter greetings to Putin and all Orthodox Christians in Russia.
