Araghchi met with Uzbek counterpart Saidov
Tianjin, July 15 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi met with Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bahtiyor Saidov.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.
Araghchi noted that the Israeli regime’s military attack on Iran occurred during negotiations, with the cooperation and support of the United States, followed by a dangerous U.S. military attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities. He emphasized that these actions constitute a betrayal of diplomacy and an unprecedented blow to the rule of law, international law, and the nuclear non-proliferation regime.
Uzbek Foreign Minister Saidov reiterated his country's position condemning violations of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and offered condolences to the victims' families. He stated that, like many regional countries, Uzbekistan is deeply concerned about the consequences of these attacks and the escalating insecurity and tension in the region.
Saidov affirmed his country's commitment to advancing bilateral relations between Tehran and Tashkent, highlighting the importance of regular joint economic commission meetings, utilizing chambers of commerce, and strengthening interregional ties as effective tools to promote and accelerate economic and trade cooperation.
