Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen announced that the Netherlands welcomes the memorandum of understanding reached between the United States and Iran.

Berendsen described the agreement as “a promising step” for regional stability, including in Lebanon.

The statement also thanked the mediator countries that played a role in shaping the process. It was particularly emphasized that the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye made significant contributions to the achievement of the agreement.

Berendsen also stated: “The rapid restoration of free passage through the Strait of Hormuz is of vital importance. The Netherlands is ready to contribute.”
