Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov hosted Aiderous Al Zubaidi, Vice President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council and President of the Southern Transitional Council.

The two sides reaffirmed their determination to further strengthen the traditionally friendly Russia–Yemen relations, emphasizing the importance of multifaceted cooperation in trade, economic, and humanitarian fields.

During the meeting, special attention was given to developments in Yemen and the surrounding region. It was stressed that launching a comprehensive national dialogue under UN auspices as soon as possible is crucial for developing mutually acceptable solutions and bringing closer the positions of opposing parties in Yemen.
