Cassis: We are in a more fragmented and uncertain world
Bern, April 20 (Hibya) – Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis highlighted increasing uncertainty and fragmentation in the global order during a speech in Geneva.
Cassis said, “In Geneva, before the Federation of Enterprises of Romandy, I spoke about a world that is no longer yesterday’s world: a more fragmented and more uncertain world.”
Emphasizing Switzerland’s core values, Ignazio Cassis stated, “In this context, Switzerland must remain faithful to the values that constitute its strength. Our prosperity directly depends on this; because one out of every two francs is linked to exports, and the main destination of these exports is Europe.”
Cassis underlined the importance of bilateral agreements, saying, “This is precisely the meaning of the bilateral approach and ‘Bilateral Agreements III’.”
Speaking about the concept of sovereignty, Cassis said, “Today, sovereignty is defined not by isolation, but by our capacity to manage interdependencies wisely.”
